Ethics in Education

Once there was a teacher named Mohan Das.

He was a Secondary Teacher in a School. The school taught moral values to the students.
But the students came from various backgrounds as per the Govt. policy. Poor students were given free education and admission to the school.

There were various dysfunctional habits in the behavior of the students. These ranged from using bad language, to cheating in the Examination.

Every day morning in the School Assembly the students would talk about the great people , their philosophy and what is right and wrong.

But in real life they never displayed the right behavior, leave alone the right path.
Mohan Das thought, I am paid by the school to educate these children, but is this the real education.

He thought I deserve my salary only when I reform these students and create honorable citizens of the society.

So he explained to the students. He said education is cosmetic until it changes the students behavior for good. Students you talk about good things, you may be aware of difference between the good and the bad, but do you practice the good.

He explained to the students that when you cheat in the Exam calling it teamwork, you are doing bad to the Humanity.

Think when you become a nurse and have not learn your lessons well, you may kill a person due to your ignorance. If you become a soldier and not learn how to use a bomb, it may explode in your own territory.

When you cheat in the Exam you fore go learning.
A person who has integrity and fail in the Exam is better than a person who copies and passes in the Exam.

Failures are nothing but stepping stones to success.

It is the moral obligation of every teacher to be a leader in right path.
A teacher is role model to the students and has a higher Moral Responsibility than even the President of a country.
